Dr. iur. Guido E. Urbach

Preferred areas of work

Dr Urbach is active in corporate and commercial law as well as contract law. He also deals with national and international arbitration proceedings and litigation before state courts. He also works in the field of international legal assistance, debt enforcement and bankruptcy law and economic criminal law. He works in German and English and also speaks Hebrew.

Education

Dr Urbach (1973) graduated from the University of Zurich in 2000 with a licentiate degree (lic. iur.; magna cum laude) and received his PhD in 2002 with a thesis focusing on the field of commercial criminal law (Dr iur.). He has studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel) and completed his studies with an LL.M. postgraduate degree (Master of Laws) at New York University (USA).

Professional experience

Dr Urbach began his professional career in 2000 as a research assistant to Prof. Dr A. Donatsch in the field of commercial criminal law at the University of Zurich. He was admitted to the Zurich Bar Association in 2004 and has since worked in two major commercial law firms in Zurich. Dr Urbach has been a partner at Kohli Urbach Rechtsanwälte AG since May 2010.
