Preferred areas of work

Juan Carlos Gil is active in contract law, corporate law and in particular in succession planning, including corporate succession, often with an international focus. He supports and represents clients in cases of conflict in these areas before state courts and in arbitration proceedings, having many years of experience in multi-jurisdictional disputes relating to estate and trust disputes. He works in German, English and Spanish and also speaks French and Italian.

Education

Juan Carlos Gil (1970) completed his legal studies at the University of Basel with a licentiate degree. He then obtained a postgraduate degree (Master of Law, LL.M.) from the London School of Economics and Political Science in international economic law and European law.

Professional experience

Juan Carlos Gil was admitted to the Zurich Bar Association in 1998. He began his professional career at a large Swiss law firm and has also worked for major law firms in Madrid and London. He has been working as an independent solicitor since 2004.
